Abstract

Coffee shell contains a lot of cellulose which can be used as a raw material to produces activated carbon. The demand of activated carbon tends to increase because it is used for a great variety of purposes, including the decolorizing of solutions of sugar, industrial chemicals, drugs, and dry-cleaning liquids, water purification, refining of vegetable and animal oils, and in recovery of gold and silver from cyanide ore-leach solutions. This investigation studied effect of tempeture and concentration of sodium chloride (as activator) on yield (rendement) and adsorption potential of activated carbon. In this investigation, coffee shell was dipped into the solution of sodium chloride with certain concentration and then it was carbonized into the muffle furnace. The carbon coke formed was then washed by using hot water and dried into the oven. The dried carbon coke was weighed and then tested the adsorption potential. The results of this investigation show that the yield (rendement) and adsorption potential of activated carbon increase with increasing the concentration of sodium chloride, but above the sodium chloride concentration of 20% the yield and adsorption potential of activated carbon tend to decrase. While the adsorption potential of activated carbon increases with temperature of carbonization, the yield of activated carbon decreases with temperature of carbonization, but above the carbonization tempeature of 600oC the adsorption potential of activated carbon tends to decreases.

Abstract

Demanding of telecommunication is a basic need as human being to have socia-lization in the neighborhood, and the function of the communication itself is to take and give information between someone to other, the information contains picture, voice, tex and video or combination among them. The way to design and build the auto dial as a call divert application on the phone home started from literature, then obtaining components and continued by designing hardware and software finally ended by trial the device. The device that is utilized to build auto dial as a call divert application on the phone home is a couple of walkie talkie, a te-lephone set, microcontroller and electronic components.

Abstract

Software 3dsmax is application based on vector and three dimension. One of e-xamples from this software produces visualization and special effect. Software 3dsmax generally is used by a graphic artist/animator/illustrator and di-gital artist to get better composition, otherwise software 3dsmax giving opportunity to soft-ware user who has syntaxes composition skill as a programmer. In other word, 3dsmax provide software method such as point and click method, and scripting method. A programmer and animator are able produced the same three dimensions works by using 3dsmax software although they use different methods. Programmer does scrip-ting by using mini listener application as script editor whereas an animator use dynamic interface. The scripting method has prominent advantage, besides giving better performan-ce, it is an encapsulation process. Algorithm processes able to design and producing plug in which is can be use on software internal in 3dsmax application. Maxscript is internal programming software which is integrated with 3D Max ap-plication. It has different writing regulations with others programming language.

Abstract

Everyone basically knows and perceives about the function of antenna. The antenna is a tool or device which has function to receive and transmit signals from a point to another. According to the research of IstaKalisa’s FM Transmitter Radio antenna of Yogyakarta, the writer will give conclusion of research. Loss which affect the working of transmitting radio stations are loss of cord, loss of space damping, and loss of resistance. They make fading on the transmitting power where the fading is in dB unit. Moreover, the position and location of Istakalisa FM transmitter radio station is in the downtown. It does not support to the transmitting system caused by ground conductivity is less than standard and also numbers of high buildings.

Abstract

In respect of development of communication system has grown rapidly, there is no problem with the distance, we can know what is happening in the different places even in other country as near as our places. In line with the advance of development of communication devices now days are closed to simple and practical, such as radio, television, cellular phone, and also internet. The radio communication specially, bigger the power transmitted by the antenna, larger area can be covered by the transmitter, that is phenomenon known as the antenna polarization. Radiation pattern analysis of ISTAKALISA FM Yogyakarta transmitter is aimed to recognize the diffuse of transmitting power and the deviation of Istakalisa’s radio antenna. The pattern and deviation can be formed and calculated at first by having tracking and then the data can be obtained where the parameters are able to be utilized for making a pattern and deviation.

Abstract

To full fill the requirements of electric power to the customer economically, the company have to able to predict the requirements of electric power itself accurately. The study is aimed to see how multi linear regression works due to forecast con-sumption of electric power. There are five sectors of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta which has been research field, they are household, business, industrial, general and total sec-tors. The formulas are used and developed based on multi linear regression including the requirements itself. The main tool to support the analysis utilized Matlab (Matrix La-boratory) programming. The study succeeds to develop regression model for each sector.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the effect of the change of cylinder head and the height of exhaust port to obtain great and safe power. Cylinder has many ports which are used in scavenging process (proses pemasukan, pembilasan dan proses pem-buangan) Exhaust port determines compression that is occurred in two stroke engine cycle and influences the engine characters. In standard condition, revolution 1500 produced 2 Nm torque. After modification, torque decreased to 1,5 (Nm). New torque increased in revolution 2000 rpm with 3,1 (Nm). Torque reached a peak from 10,8 (Nm) in revolution 8500 rpm to 13,6 (Nm) in revolution 10.000 rpm. Power produced in standard condition was 0,4 (Hp) in revolution 1500 rpm. After modification, it decreased to 0,3 (Hp). New power increased in revolution 3500 rpm. Power reached a peak from 12,9 (Hp) in revolution 8500 rpm to 19 (Hp) in revolution 10.000 rpm.

Abstract

The research will compare gasoline engine by using fuel ionizer device with stan-dard condition focusing on engine performance and exhausted emission. From the ana-lysis it can be proved that by using Fuel ionizer , the maximum torque obtained was in re-volution 6000 rpm with 9,7 Nm. There is an increase about 2,06 % from standard con-dition with 9,5 Nm. The power that was produced in high revolution 6000 rpm also increa-sed 2,05 % with the use of Fuel Ionizer. The minimum power increased 2,7% in revolution 1500 rpm .The use of Fuel Ionizer caused Bmep increased 7,67 %, SCF decreased 17,55 % and efficiency increased 16,32 %. For exhausted emission, the use of fuel ioni-zer caused CO decreased 1,8% - 13,10%. HC decreased 1,3% -19,7%, CO2 increased 8% - 13,7%, while O2 has various values; in revolution 2500 rpm – 3000 rpm there was an increase in CO content and in revolution 3500 rpm-6000 rpm, the content of O2 in standard condition was higher and Lambda value increased 0,13% - 2,62% after using Fuel Ionizer.

Abstract

Powder metallurgy is known as a method to produce aluminum metal matrix composites. The materials used in this research were Al alloy powder as the matrix and Al2O3 powder as the reinforcement. The Al alloy powder with irregular shape and particle size of 53 – 210 mm was produced by mechanical grinding method. Al2O3 powder with particle size 63 – 200 mm was supplied by Merck Germany. The various content of reinforcement were 0, 3, 6 and 9% weight of Al2O3. Each composition was compacted at pressures 500 MPa to produced green bodies. The green bodies were then sintered various temperatures were 450, 500, 550 and 600 oC for 2 hour in argon atmosphere. Density of specimens was measured using Archimedes method. Mechanical properties of the specimens used Vickers hardness. The results of the research show that relative density, increases with increasing temperature sintered. However relative density decreases with increasing of Al2O3 content. The optimum mechanical properties Vickers hardness were achieved on the composites containing 6% weight of Al2O3 with compacting pressure of 500 MPa and sintered temperature 550 oC. The investigation of micro structure showed amounts of porous was 9 to 20 percent, that relative density still low was 80 to 91 percent.
